INTAKE - EXHAUST SYSTEMS
modern technology for agricultural use
Back in the 1930's air flow research was minimal. Agricultural engines were designed to operate in a variety of weather conditions and parts had to be affordable. Performance was not a priority!
Our C5 Performance intake-exhaust systems fix common issues such as dead spots, rich/lean pulsing, inability to tune, and fuel burn off in the exhaust system (a failure of the carburetor and/or intake manifold).
How do I choose a header that fits my tractor?
We assist with designing a header that does what you want. Designing a proper intake-exhaust system is serious business. Using incorrect math can destroy performance and cause power losses over a stock manifold ... choose wisely!

- We design intake runners to provide superior fuel distribution. This is the most important part of any successful performance goal. Without equal fuel distribution you cannot achieve acceptable efficiency.
- The exhaust tubes are designed using various math formulas and industry tricks to maximize scavenge pulses and provide efficient power at the correct rpm.

Intake-exhaust models
This is a great example showing how engine size affects what rpm max torque happens using the same manifold or header:
300 cubic inch = 3175 rpm
400 cubic inch = 2369 rpm
450 cubic inch = 2116 rpm
500 cubic inch = 1912 rpm
As you can see, there is a 1200 rpm shift in peak torque between 300 and 500 cubic inch engines using the same manifold or header. For this reason we encourage accurate answers when we design your system. Custom header sizes are available.
