Trying to read sparkplugs can be very difficult or impossible unless you are trying to jet for WOT (wide open throttle). Partial throttle tuning can be done quickly using oxygen sensors.
The NTK sensor company (yes the NGK spark plug people) originally designed this meter for use with their industry leading sensors. Now called the AFR500v2, these updated meters have faster reaction times and improved wire protection than the original.

What does an oxygen sensor do?
- Air-Fuel (AF or AFR) sensors measure and display rich or lean conditions
- Precise measurement of air-fuel ratios aide in tuning for reliability and performance
- Using exhaust "smoke" is unreliable as a tuning method
- A meter allows troubleshooting such as a carburetor or fuel pump issues
- Allows tuning from low to high rpm without additional tools
- Maximizes performance without paying for dyno runs
AFR CLAMP
Although welding in a bung is the best method to secure the oxygen sensor, sometimes due to exhaust design this is not possible.
These portable clamps work good in most situations.
On tractors with short exhaust, large diameter exhaust, and especially on John Deere twins like A, B, and G ... you may have to install a longer tube (copper tubing or brake line) and seal it onto the tube. This prevents "reversion" which gives false readings or sometimes no reading at all.

SAFETY SWITCHES
Can be used for cycle, atv, tractor, or truck competition.
With the C5 ignition we use a "Normally Open" switch that will cut power to the ignition in case of emergency.
These are automotive grade switches with billet aluminum bodies and a 360° mounting clamp.
